by students, for students

About the project

A free online theory notebook for Russian-language students in grades 5–9. By students, for students.

TT Moskvina (Moskvina Theory Notebook) is a free online theory notebook for Russian-language students in grades 5–9. It is made by students, for students, following the methodology of Irina Alekseevna Moskvina, a teacher of Russian language and literature.

It started as a school project: students moved the paper theory notebook online, built a first version of the site and presented it to fifth-graders. Now the notebook has a new platform: every topic in one place, in the order of the school curriculum, on any device and without sign-up.

how it all began

The project’s path

From a paper notebook in class to a first-degree diploma and a platform of its own.

  1. Where it began

    A paper theory notebook

    In Irina Alekseevna Moskvina’s Russian lessons, students keep a theory notebook: rules, tables, examples and “traps” — everything you need to revise a topic. Her motto is “Inspire by being inspired!”.

    But a paper notebook has weak spots:

    • miss a lesson or lose the notebook, and the notes are gone;
    • there was no online archive to recover what was covered;
    • it is hard to attach reliable material to homework;
    • online sources have clutter and mistakes, and look nothing like the school notebook.
  2. A school project

    The notebook moves online

    Then three 8th-grade students — Eva Chebotaeva, Taisiia Bondal and Yaroslav Ivannikov — decided to move the notebook online. Supervised by Irina Alekseevna, they built the first version of the site, “Online notebook of Russian-language theory”, and presented it to fifth-graders.

    That is the idea TT Moskvina stands on: every topic in one place, in the order of the school curriculum, on a phone, tablet or computer. By students, for students.
